Ensure that the manufacturer’s warranty will be backed by the
manufacturer. If you don’t make sure the installation is
done right and/or the install is not the proper system, your
warranty may be null and void. If the installer has gone out of
business at that point, you are 100% on your own.
Eliminate the confusion caused by all the different
information that is thrown at you when getting quotes on
windows, roofing, and remodeling.
Educate yourself before talking to a contractor to save
yourself time and frustration.
Spend your money wisely. If you spend too much money on
the wrong installation or product you could be unhappy with the
results or have problems that cost you money later.
Know how to protect yourself from dishonest contractors
that might take your deposit and disappear.
Make sure that products that are installed are installed
correctly for maximum performance. Most people assume that
the contractor will know what they are doing which can be a
costly mistake. As the homeowner you need to be prepared with
the knowledge to make sure the job is done right using the right
products.
Be sure you are getting the right products. Did you know
that different windows are more effective in high wind areas?
Did you know that there are shingles that have higher wind
ratings for high wind areas?
Find out if a contractor is financially stable. You want
to protect yourself and make sure the contractor can complete
the job.
Save money on quotes. You saw a price in an ad and when
the contractor gave you his quote it was much higher than the
advertised price. Or the contractor had a number of add-ons to
the job before it was done that you were not expecting. Large
price differences from one quote to the next can also add to
confusion.
TLH can explain all of this, and more, so that you feel better about
the choices you make.
